Town Eyeing Premier Friendlies
By Aston May 14 2008
Town manager Jim Magilton is hoping to arrange two friendlies at Portman Road against Premiership sides in the build up to the new season.
Saturday July 26 and Monday, August 4 are the two dates set aside for the games against what will hopefully be top flight sides.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "We are close to finalising our pre-season programme and have lined up Premier League opposition, we are looking at playing two matches at Portman Road and they will hopefully both be against Premier League opposition.

"We will also be going to Loughborough University for a week, as we did last year. We have built up a good relationship with the people there and the sports science side of the game is something we take very seriously.

"The players will be like lab rats, looked at, checked and then checked again."

Town have already arranged friendlies away from Portman Road against Bury Town on Wednesday the 9th of July, Brentford on Friday the 11th of July, Tiptree United on Thursday the 24th of July and AFC Sudbury on Tuesday the 5th of August.

Friends that work at 2 local establishments tell me that quite a few town players visit their places & scoff burgers, chips & greasy fry ups - work that lot out Loughborough !!!
