Changes At shaymen.org |
|
Since I started this site in April, the hits have continued to increase week by week. This has been great progress that just shows the hard work that has gone into making this site an important source for Halifax Town news. I have tried to add a bit of humour to the site, especially through the nightmare we have been through just to keep us all sane and hopefully the imagination will keep firing on all cylinders in the future. I have some big plans for the next season. The SportNetwork chaps who host this site are working hard on new ideas such as a great new newsletter to keep people updated with the latest news. They are also working on a SMS service for the readers of the site, but the discussions with the SMS providers are still in the early stages. All the sites under the SportNetwork are all run by the passion of the publishers like myself. The only rewards we get are to see our hits increasing. They are trying to bring in sponsors for the sites which will help to pay for the servers that the sites are hosted on. If and when enough money comes in to pay for the servers, then there is a possibility that us publishers might start to receive some sort of commission for running the sites If at any time I begin to earn any money from this site I vow to donate all the money to Halifax Town Football Club. If you or your company would be interested in sponsoring this site and have your company logo/advert on every page then please email me at the usual address. So, what other plans are there? Well, I have worked hard to update this site every day with the latest news. Please excuse the last couple of days but I have been away in a green grass bowling competition. We are obviously going to be entering a very busy period now that we have appointed a manager. Players will be joining and we will be able to report on the positive things for a change. The site colours will be changing this season and also so will the main site logo. The format of the stories and message board will also be getting a make over to try and make the site more attractive. The 2002 World Cup Prediction League was a great success and so for next season we will be having a prediction league for our first season back in the Nationwide Conference. I will be contacting local businesses to try and get some prizes donated so that it gives something to play for throughout the whole of the season. If you have any views or ideas about this site, then please either email me or leave a message on the message board. Your input is vital to help keep the progress of this site going. We have Martensite and John Buckley as columnists who will be regular writers for the site through the 2002/03 season, but if you would like to join the editorial team at shaymen.org then please get in touch. We also have the SDS section on the site covering past articles from the great fanzine with past editions available to read. One final thing. Thanks for reading the site. I hope you enjoy our views on Halifax Town. Have a good summer and roll on August. |
