Club Won't Be Sold Before November
By Tyne-Talk October 7 2008
Newcastle United have extended the deadline potential buyers have to register their interest in the club. Today had been reported as the day set by Ashley for prospective buyers to throw their name into the hat, but that has now changed and they are believed to have another 10 days to consider the option.

So what's the truth behind this, does Mike Ashley really have a set of potential bidders prepared to offer between £250 - £30million for the club or is he struggling to gain interest with his four page "teaser" document.

It has been alleged that all those interested have had to sign a confidentiality agreement preventing them from disclosing any details of the club, this could work both ways, meaning that no names of potential buyers should theoretically be leaked to the press.

Interim manager Joe Kinnear, may not have all the details but he is obviously been kept informed of the progress Ashley is making in scouting the club abroad. He made a comment on Friday regarding the duration of his own contract indicating he may be staying past his original six to eight game plan and could manager the side for up to twelve games, seeing them through into November should a deal take place.

The likelihood over a takeover happening in October is very slim, another 10 days takes us to the 17th October and the chance of a buyout being completed and actioned before November is slim.
