NUFC v THFC Carling Cup 3rd Round
By Tyne-Talk August 30 2008
Newcastle United have drawn Tottenham Hotspur in the 3rd round of the Carling Cup after being forced into extra time by Coventry City earlier this week, to secure their place in the 3rd round. Keegan's men will host the cup holders in the match due to be played in the week commencing the 22nd September.
It will be viewed as one of the most interesting ties of the round with the other premier league clashes being between Portsmouth who will host Chelsea, Blackburn who play Everton and Manchester United who face Middlesbrough at Old Trafford.

As always there are ties which could potentially upset the top clubs, they are as follows:

Liverpool v Crewe Alexandra

Aston Villa v Queens Park Rangers

Arsenal v Sheffield United

Sunderland v Northampton Town
