...and the fixtures don't get much easier during August as Newcastle take on Bolton in their second match and then finish the month off with a trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal.
For some it's ideal to get the big games out of the way first, as we all know you have to play them at some point for others big games throughout the season keep the player on their toes.
Newcastle United do not play their first back to back home games until the end of October and early November which is swiftly followed by their first back to back away games towards the end of November.
Christmas looks to be eventful as Newcastle entertain Tottenham on the 20th of December and Wigan looking to ruin the Christmas celebrations on Boxing Day at the JJB. Keegan's men will travel to Anfield to complete the festive line-up on the 28th of December.
New Years Day is empty with no Premier League matches in the second half of the season until the 10th January.
As the season draws to an end, games against Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Fulham and Villa on the last day could determine Newcastle's final league position.
