No Return For Solano
By Tyne-Talk June 12 2008
Former Newcastle United winger Nolberto Solano who has recently been released by West Ham after just one season at the London club, expressed his affection for Newcastle United as a club and the fans but stressed it would be very difficult for him to return to the club for a 3rd time due to family commitments. The same commitments which saw him leave the club last summer.
He said in his most recent interview:

"I am looking for another club. I hope to stay in England for another two years and after that, I will return to Peru. Everybody knows what I feel about Newcastle and those fans, but it would be difficult me to ever return there. The reason I was forced to leave Newcastle was because of family reasons, and that situation has not changed."

The Peruvian who has played in the English Premier League for the last 10 years after joining Newcastle from Boca Juniors in 1998, hinted of a move from playing into managing at some point in his career.

He said:

"But one day, I might be back at Newcastle as manager."

Of Uniteds current manager Kevin Keegan, Solano said:

"I don't really know Kevin Keegan, but when I saw him in action at Upton Park at the end of the season, I was very impressed with him. If there is one man who can turn things around at St James' Park, then that man is Kevin Keegan. No matter where I am in the world, I will be hoping and praying that he does."
