Rozenhal Hoping To Stay At Lazio
By Tyne-Talk May 15 2008
Defender David Rozenhal has expressed his wishes to stay at Lazio where he is currently on loan. The Czech International is reiterating a point he made in March when he was quoted saying that he would like to spend many years there. He moved on loan after 21 appearances for Newcastle United, however it seemed he would be returning to Tyneside at the end of the spell as he wasnt playing regularly.

When he left Newcastle he said:

"I am bitter. I was looking forward very much to coming to Newcastle after playing at Club Brugge and PSG.

Now I am not sure if this looks like a dream spell. I did not expect I would be sitting on the bench."

In his most recent interview he spoke of his desire to stay at the club and how he hopes to continue his run of games.

"In the last five games I have played from the start and it has given me the self-confidence I had when I was playing for Paris St Germain.

Everything is looking to be returning to normal, I hope it will continue this way.

I have not played as much I have wanted to though. Now it is up to Lazio to make a decision.

If I was playing then I would definitely come. It is important for me to play regularly.

I would not like to struggle here in a situation where I play one game and sit out the next three."

He hasn't been very good in Italy. I doubt Lazio will want to take him on.

Yeah, he's got back the confidence he had when he played in a lower-table French side. Whatever...

Yeah, taking him on was a desperation move by Lazio. Too bad they didn't get in touch a few days sooner so a sale could be worked out...
