24 year old Peter Ramage left Newcastle United yesterday for regular first team football at Queens Park Rangers. The defender who had been at the club since 1996 spoke of how the move was the hardest decision he has ever had to make & that the move is a big thing for him, he also praised manager Kevin Keegan for keeping the door open for him & not pushing him out of the club he has grown up with.

"It was probably the hardest decision I've ever had to make.

I wasn't going to get guaranteed football at Newcastle which was tough to take but in the same breath I understand that.

[Kevin Keegan] never took the offer of a contract off the table, he said until I sign somewhere else the offer was there.

If worst came to worst, I always had Newcastle to fall back on, which I really appreciate.

It was a bit emotional on Sunday, leaving and saying goodbye to everyone 

I can't thank him enough, he is a legend up in these parts and all I've ever wanted to do was to play for Kevin Keegan when I was growing up.

The former toon player who made his final appearance for Newcastle against Everton in the last game of the season has agreed a 3 year deal with QPR after being released from the club.
