Motherwell have signed John Sutton on a three year deal after he was released by Wycombe Wanderes only a year after leaving St. Mirren. We also look forward to Craigan v Clarkson tomorrow when they can line up at Hampden tomorrow night as Northern Ireland take on Scotland As we revealed on here yesterday John Sutton has signed for Motherwell day, sealing a three year deal after only a year at Wycombe Wanderers.
He will provide some much needed competition for Chris Porter, who has started the season sluggishly, and David Clarkson. It should also allow more time for young Jamie Murphy to develop.
Having mentioned his ability up front it may well be he makes his debut on Saturday at the back alongside Stephen Craigan with the news that Mark Reynolds has pulled out of Scotland Under 21's squad with an injury.
Talking of Craigan and Clarkson, they could line up against each other in the Friendly International at Hampden tomorrow when Scotland take on Northern Ireland. It looks as though Clarkson won't be starting but it will be more than likely Craigan will add to his tally of 34 caps to date.
This will be the first time Motherwell players have lined up against each other in a International since Ben Ellis lined up for Wales against Allan McClory for Scotland away back in 1934!
Let's hope this wee bit of history is made!
