Another fine display
... reduced to 44 overs a side, they did just that removing the opening 4 batsmen for 83. But David Leatherdale proved too hard a nut for the Middlesex bowlers to crack as he hit 72 not out, assisted by 36 from Smith as Worcestershire reached 201/7 at the end of their 44 overs. Scott Styris took 3 wickets, with two each for Chad Keegan and Ben Hutton.
"Vera" didn't add any more to the target for Middlesex who got off to a great start in their reply. Paul Weekes hit 62, launching a breath taking start with Ed Smith (46) as his assistant. The middle order wabbled a bit with 4 wickets falling for 9 runs. But a 51 run partnership between Hutton and the in form batsman Ed Joyce helped the Londoners recover and when Hutton was out, in came Keegan to hit 12 runs from 3 balls to give the hosts a 3 wicket win.
