Match winning 81
... playing as a specialist batsman.
However all rounder Dalrymple stated his case for higher honnors with a brilliant 81, bringing up his 50 with a straight six into the pavillion. He was assisted by first Chad Keegan (26) and then Alan Richardson (21*) before falling to Hogg. Hayward (5*) assisted Richardson to 210/9 when the 45 overs reached their end.
Lancashire's reply never seemed to get going. Law and Loye fell to Keegan in the same over with 23 on the board, Sutcliffe fell on 46 to Haywood and then things went very very wrong. Scott Styris, making his debut for Middx removed Flintoff and Cork in sucsessive balls before Ben Hutton removed the top scorer Mark Chilton for 37 with 101 runs scored. Hegg was run out soon after, and with Hogg falling to Richardson soon after that, an away win looked unlikely. Paul Weekes got in on the act removing Muralitharan before Mahmood was run out, Lancashire all out for 141, giving Middlesex a 69 run win that puts them top of Division 1.
