Deserved loss for Middlesex
By David Slater June 16 2004
Middx suffered a deserved defeat in the C&G quarter finals to Gloucestershire but it could well have been a different story. A poor start was compensated by wonderful fielding and bowling by the Londoners as Glous went from 106/0 to 169/6 however they battled hard and eventually finished on 239/8.

Middlesex's reply was stop start. They losy wickets fairly regularly and never really started slogging till 4 overs to go once Ed Joyce was out. Simon Cook (32*) and Ben Scott (8*) did their best to change the outcome but the damage was already done and the eventual margin of defeat was 16 runs.
