Betts secures emphatic win
By David Slater May 6 2004
4-15 from Mel Betts helped send Middlesex into the next round as Wales were bowled out for 103 in 41.1 overs in reply to Middlesex's 277/6 from their 50 overs. Paul Weekes and Nantie Hayward also chipped in with two wickets. The result was in contrast to Surrey who lost to Ireland by 5 wickets!

Day  1:

An unbeaten 104 from Jamie Dalrymple put Middx in control of their rain affected C&G match. They were able to bat their full 50 overs but play will resume at 1045 tomorrow for the Wales innings. 66 from Paul Weekes got Middlesex off to a good start before the 'rymples knock calmed a mini collapse.

I should point out that Middlesex seemed in control in 2001 against Herefordshire. We all know what happened then!!!
