Middlsex got of to a tricky start on a suprisingly slow wicket. 53 from Andy Strauss, 72 from man-of-the-match Ed Joyce and a quick 33 from Simon Cook took Middlesex to 214/7 at the end of their innings.
Northants got off to a bad start losing 4 wickets in a 20 ball spell, reducing them to 29/4. They would never recover from that as the wickets continued to fall. The pick was a superbe run out by Joe Dawes. It was left to Chad Keegan, claiming his forth wicket to finish it off, as Northants were bowled out for 188 securing a 26 run win.
