Blackpool were held to a 1-1 draw on Saturday but the match could have gone either way as both Blackpool and Coventry outplayed each other. Blackpool were held to a 1-1 draw on Saturday but the match could have gone either way as both Blackpool and Coventry outplayed each other. Both goals came in the second half with Ben Burgess scoring first but Freddy Eastwood grabbed an equalizer 10 minutes later and ended all hopes of another victory for Blackpool.

It was a sunny day in Blackpool but it could of got worse as from the start Clinton Morrison saw his shot hit of the crossbar and it signaled Coventry’s intentions to win.

The first half was a boring one with no real chances being produced. However you could claim David Vaughan shot was properly Blackpool’s real chance which was shot over the bar.

The main talking point was when Clinton Morrison stayed down from an injury. He did try to get up and continue but after seeing the ball with Steve Kabba he fell to the floor apparently injured and so Kabba put it out, only for Morrison to rejoin play moments later.

The half ended with a minute added but should have been around 3-4 with all the injuries and stoppages.

Blackpool were a changed side in the second half winning countless corners and attack on Westwood’s goal and it was under 15 minutes played when Blackpool scored.

It was a nice build up with Kabba and GTF linking with Kabba squaring a ball nicely to Burgess who neatly tucked the ball in the corner of the goal. LETS ALL DO THE BIRDMAN!!!

Blackpool 1-0 Coventry

Blackpool began to build the attack up with Rob Edwards nearly claiming his first goal but it was a near miss. Also Ben Burgess missed what pros call a “sitter” when a free header with an open net saw it cannon off the crossbar.

It was Coventry who claimed a goal back 10 minutes later by a defensive mix up. Eastwood was let free to roam cutting in and out of the Pool defense and unleashed a shot past Rachubka and ran towards the away fans.

Blackpool 1-1 Coventry

Hammill was introduced but created nothing but being dispossessed. T run down the middle could of seen the Liverpool loanee square the ball to Camera on the leftabba in front or GTF on the right but he thought he could do a Wes but didn’t pay off and was soon run backwards to claim it back.

The game ended with a fair result and a look towards QPR and Kaspars Gorkss to come in mid week will be a good game and could see a shock result.
