New Sponsor
By Rocky64 September 19 2008
Blackpool FC announced there new sponsor today, this comes after previous sponsor Floors2Go suffered the infamous tangerine curse and went bust, becoming the fifth consecutive sponsor to do so. But the commercial team at Bloomfield Road has been working on a new sponsor and it will be the logo of Cabrini that's emblazoned on the shirt for the rest of the season.

Cabrini is the designer sportswear brand for youth's by JD sports. The team are due to run out in the new shirts tomorrow whilst replicas won't be on sale for a few weeks yet. In addition to the current shirts been re-branded with the Cabrini logo on, a new third kit will be launched next month.

Given the current financial climate, some doubted the Seasiders would attract a new sponsor. But they have and Chairman Karl Oyston is delighted. He told the official site "As soon as it became apparent that Floors 2 Go would not honour their existing agreement we had to act quickly and were delighted to be approached by JD Sports and we are absolutely delighted to be associated with them, These are difficult times for clubs seeking sponsorship deals, given the current financial climate, but we are thrilled that JD Sports see the value of being associated with us."
