Preview vs Andorra

England Planet!
By Rocky64 September 6 2008
With England playing today, the top two flights of English football have been given the week off. So it only seems Right that we turn our attention to the game this afternoon as England take on Andorra. After missing out on Euro2008, qualification for the World Cup 2010 is vital and if we fail to make the competition in South Africa then England will have suffered yet another humiliating failure.

The last time England played Andorra was in 2007 under Steve McClaren, although we won 3-0 fans where left disappointed by the performance and now Fabio Cappello will hope to turn that around with an entertaining victory today. Andorra have only ever won one game against Macedonia and a loss today would be devastating for team morale.

Frank Lampard is a doubt but could play, Along with Terry, Brown and Ashley Cole who have all returned to training this week. Rio is likely to remain sidelined with a sore neck meaning Upson or Lescott will take his place. Beckham and Barry are also likely to play, with Rooney and Defoe starting upfront. However Jimmy Bullard could play given his recent call up.

Hopefully we'll see an England win but it's going to be another hard game, something we've come to expect for every game over the last three years. Although we're going for a 4-0 win and hope you'll be flocking to your local pub for a few Shandy's and to watch the game.

Up The Three Lions!
