Happy Daze, Thinks are on the up!

Back to the Blackpool
By Rocky64 July 1 2008
What a day to be a Blackpool fan, one new signing, two players agreeing a new deal, a fee agreed with one club for one player and news that another signing is close. It's one of those days that I call a Transfer Tickler, because no matter how crap the day has been at least Blackpool FC have brought me out in that pinch myself giggle.

Of course the doom and gloom side of me thinks all these announcements and rumours have all come at a very convenient time. Season Ticket holders seats will become available to all very shortly and the feel good factor may see some fans invest in a season ticket.

Anyway onto the news! First up Stephen Crainey has signed a new deal with the club. No word yet on whether his £250k release clause has been removed as part of the new deal however common sense would hopefully have been applied and we can only hope it has.

Last years player of the season has signed a new two year deal with an option for a third. Now 27, the contract should secure that Bloomfield Road is graced with the presence of a player in his peak at left back.

Next! It's Claus Jorgenson, The midfielder has signed for an extra year with the option for a further one. The midfielder has shown commitment to the club by accepting lower terms and a lesser role at the club. But with Claus been a fighter, expect him to be in and out the first team as per usual.

Now onto the signing of the day. For a rumoured £75,000 its Julio Baptiste who joins from Mansfield. (Full profile will be added later) Baptiste operates as a centre back and will have big boots to fill especially if Gorkksy leaves.

The 22 year old joins on a two year deal with an option for a further year. Whether he can step up to the big time is a question that remains unanswered but only time will tell lets just hope the boo boys give him that time.

Then onto Paul Dickov, Dickov will sign for a club in the next 48 hours with Blackpool the rumoured destination. Dickov on a full time deal would show real ambition. If we'd had him for all of last season, I've no doubt we'd have finished in the top half of the table.

Finally, No the rock hasn't come back to Monday Night Raw. Instead Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has got his wallet out to agree a fee with Spurs for David Martin which has been accepted. It's no down for the club and player to agree terms but fingers crossed he'll be in training on Thursday.

Now I have a lump in my pants that needs dealing with, damn you transfer window excitement!
