Blackpool a "Nightmare" for Marcus Bean

Bean at Rotherham!
By Rocky64 June 6 2008
Marcus Bean has declared his time at the seaside a "nightmare" and claimed that he "was treated pretty badly". The outburst comes in an interview published today in the Richmond and Twickenham times which details his move from Blackpool to Brentford.

He said "Blackpool was a nightmare. It is fair to say I was treated pretty badly," Talking about his loan spell at Rotherham he said, "I was doing pretty well at Rotherham and enjoying my football, only to be recalled from the loan and told to train with the kids and play in the reserves."

The 23 year old also said his time here was "frustrating" he told the paper. "It was frustrating and it got to me mentally and physically. I never felt I was really wanted. It may have been a mistake, but I have no regrets.

Although despite the hard life at Bloomfield Road, Bean is wanting to put the behind him now, and Say's although people maybe surprised he's dropped a few levels, Brentford will provide him with all the challenges he needs as he has his fresh start.

He said "I surprised a few people by stepping down a couple of levels but, to play your best football, you need to be settled. I am near my parents and the people who love me now. It is a fresh start for me. It is a chance for me to rack up the games again and I am hungry for success."

Bean donned the Tangerine shirt, just 27 times. A training ground incident followed by an off the field incident seemed to put him out the first team picture for good. But he still got to train with first team on occasions and he claims the ones he's experiencing at Brentford are better then the ones here at the seaside.

He said "I was very surprised at how good Andy's training sessions were compared to those at supposedly a higher level," he said. It is a young squad with a good vibe and I think I will add some experience to the side."

Bean admitted that he did not feel wanted at Blackpool he said "It feels nice to be wanted after the experience I have had. I probably would not have signed for the club if I didn't think there was a chance of making the play-offs

Very disrespectful to Blackpool. Granted he may of not had a great time & did not get many games. It is simply because he did not meet the standard & he was a drain on our funds as far as I am concerned.

He hasnt dropped leagues because he thinks they will get promotion, if he wanted to be local to his family why not join MK Dons etc? It is simply because he is not good enough.

Period!
