Blackpool linked to Dickinson

DICKO!
By Rocky64 June 5 2008
According to todays Daily Mirror, Blackpool are chasing Stockport's Liam Dickinson. According to the paper he is "a £700,000 target for Championship side Blackpool." Now the huge fee, automatically registers this as a load of bull but the fact they got his last name wrong makes me doubt even more. It's lazy journalism to say the least.

But for those interested, Dickinson is highly rated at Edgerly Park. After been signed for £2000 by former manager Chris Turner  in December 2005. He's had spells at Telford United also and was a product of the Blackburn Rover Academy.

Last season he etched his name in history as he scored the winning goal at Wembley. Sending Stockport into league one as they beat Rochdale 3-2, a stunning comeback. Whether he can translate that to the Championship I don't know. He played in 43  league games last, six times as a sub and managed to score an impressive 21 goals.

Meanwhile The Blackpool Gazette has today ran an article which once again states that Paul Dickov is considering Blackpool's contract offer. However it would appear he may have a future at Eastland's after all. Following the appointment of Mark Hughes as manger at Man City, it would appear there is a possibility that Dickov may be offered a coaching role there. He's also understood to have been offered contracts by MLS side Toronto and A-League side Perth Glory. As always we'll have the latest as we get it. In the meantime check out the forum!
