Stephen Crainey: Another Release Clause!

Off to Burnley?
By Rocky64 June 2 2008
Within the last hour Tangerine-Planet.co.uk has learnt that defender Stephen Crainey DOES have a release clause within his contract. Meaning Blackpool will be forced to allow the player to talk to Burnley, if reports they've bid £250,000 for the player are true.

Some people will question why Crainey had a minimum release clause in the first place. But lets not forget that previous to signing with Blackpool; Crainey had endured several injuries and Blackpool didn't know how good he was and wanted the option to lose him if needs be. So they inserted a clause which meant Crainey had to play so many minutes in return he got a minimum release clause of £250k put in.

how many are we going to let slip through our fingers on a release clause? FFS it should be the last resort.

Contracts are the directors responsibility so another mistake by Karl( I am useless) Oyston.

All other clubs protect their best assets - not BFC we make it so they can leave for nothing. Poor is not a word good enough for our clubs administrators.

So if our arguably 3 best players left we would only have £750,000 and I dont see much of that being spent.
