RIP South Stand
By Rocky64 May 21 2008
Building work is finally happening at the home of the Seasiders; Bloomfield Road! However it's not the much expected South stand, instead the North Stand commercial space, which has been hidden behind chipboard since the new ground was erected, is finally been fitted out.

This is the latest in a series of works expected on the ground over the summer. The press have already been moved higher up in the West Stand to allow more seats for paying spectators and extra seats are expected to be added to the "Gene Kelly" stand after the council finish a Noise Impact Assessment.

As for the South Stand we understand that following a board meeting a timescale has been finally agreed to build the stand and work could start in the near future. However whether the club are to build a temporary stand or a permanent one remains to be seen with both been considered options by chairman Karl Oyston.

He told the Gazette "The preferred option is obviously to build a permanent south west and south. The worst case scenario fall-back is to build a temporary south."

Anyway we hope to have more on The South Stand Saga shortly, including photo's from the current construction taking place on the North Stand. In the mean time why not have you say on our forum, the true online home for Seasiders!
