BFC News Round-Up

Norwich want him now!
By Rocky64 May 13 2008
Well John Craven hat on and its time for yet another Blackpool Football Club news round. The all you can eat buffet of Seasiders News. Which this week includes the very latest on the old transfer tittle tattle. Such as the future of Wes, Gorkss, Lee Miller and more! So all aboard the Blackpool News Round.

We'll start with this weeks funny news. BSA in response to an article wrote on this site launched a statement saying how they were against the new pricing in place for Season tickets. More like they were worried against a revolt and been over-thrown. But anyway they decided to arrange a meeting with the chairman, which they did for a date in which he was out of the country! Seriously BSA can't even organize a meeting! I know which supporters association I'm aligning myself with next season.

Now we have some news on our friendlies. Of course we're out in Latvia from July 12th to July 16th by our estimations. But we've been reliably informed that a game against Fleetwood Town will also take place in the summer!

I'm supposed to follow suit of every other website and congratulate AFC Fylde and Fleetwood on there success and whilst it's nice to see Seasiders having luck bringing success to other parts of the Fylde, i do have to express my displeasure at the so-called Blackpool fans who went to Wembley to watch another team. Would you go to watch Preston at Wembley? Answer is probably not so why go watch a team which upon till last year was associated with its connection to interbred Preston fans?

Anyway on to the good stuff and I'm not an about that white stuff that costs forty quid a go. I'm on about transfer gossip of course! Well there isn't any real news on players coming in. Lee Miller who was linked to us last week, as we revealed first before the Gazette etc picked it up, has signed a new two year deal at Aberdeen.

The striker was given an ultimatum by his manager up there and after consulting his family he decided to stay playing second rate football in Scotland. Shame really if he actually had any belief in his ability he would have come to join the millions of other Scottish people in Blackpool.

On the topic of Jocks, Rangers are still chasing Gorkss but expect it all to go quiet until after the UEFA cup final. For which thousands of Rangers are expected to turn the town blue as they descend on Blackpool "England's Glasgow" for the final. For fear of been found and beaten I am going to wish Rangers all the best for the final!

Finally it's time to talk about "The Magician" Wesley Hoolahan! If Wes was a wrestler you'd have to compare him to Rey Mysterio or AJ Styles. Both small flyweights who have the ability to step up-to the main event and win world titles. Or in Wes's case lots of football winners medals.

Well Norwich boss Glenn Roeder seems to think so and so do the backward folk of East Anglia. Wes is tipped to replace Darren Huckerby and the interest is due to his awesome performances against Norwich this season. Taking a rare break from his tractor Roeder spoke the Norwich local rag.

This is what he said about Wes. "If someone said who is the best player who has been at Carrow Road this year performance wise, I would probably say one of the smallest players, ironically, (Wes) Hoolahan,I thought he was absolutely fantastic for Blackpool, marvelous player.”

Wes is available for £250,000 due to a minimum release fee in his contract but a whole host of clubs are interested in The Irishman and interest will surely increase if he impresses for his Country.

After been selected to the preliminary 40 Wes has now made it to the final 28 man squad but will face competition for a place in the team still. The games he will participate in are against Columbia and Serbia on May 24th and 29th respectively. We'll be sure to let you know how he gets on and with any news in the meantime.

But if you can't wait until then get onto the message board and post your thoughts on all things tangerine or for even more fun go onto the Burnley bored and call them all inbreds!
