James Bailey ends his four years at Glaws

James Bailey - gone
By Cherry Picker August 6 2008
A week after the news that Australian international hooker Jeremy Paul has agreed to cut his Gloucester contract short by two years, winger James Bailey has become the latest player to go through the Kingsholm exit doors. He can't really be blamed, though, because he has always been a fringe player since joining from Bristol in 2004 and wants to develop his career.

Bailey was offered a new contract, but turned it down in the hope that he can find a club which will give him more game time than Glaws have in the last four seasons.
Bailey told the Citizen: “I felt I wasn't getting the number of first team opportunities I needed to show what I can do at this stage of my career.

“I leave with no bad feeling. I have met some great friends and had a great time playing rugby for Gloucester."
Bailey made 48 starts for Glaws, ten of them last season, and scored 13 tries.
He deserves a chance to play more Premier League rugby.
Meanwhile, Glaws have announced they will hold the annual open day at Kingsholm on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, from 1 to 4pm.
