Deeney signs proffesional contract

The Saddlers have today signed youngster Troy Denney on a professional deal following a number of impressive performances for Walsall's reserves, the youngster also had a very successful loan spell at Halesowen, where the striker managed to score eight goals in ten appearances Halesowen.

The Saddlers manager Richard Money has also praised the 18 year-old, saying that the striker plays as an old fashioned centre forward who puts himself about. He has proven that he is a real handful for defences and that knows how to score goals.

The Saddlers have a good record for bringing quality youngsters through the Bescot ranks and if Troy, Alex Nicholls, Mark Bradley, Netan Sansara, Ishmel Demontagnac, David McDermott, James McKeown and Emmanuele Smith all follow in Scott Dann’s footsteps and make a massive impact on The Saddlers first team, the future could be very bright.

 

Other good news for The Saddlers youth system is that youngster Netan Sansara has been called up to the England under-18s squad to face Holland on Tuesday 27th, 2007.

 

The 17 year-old has now become the 5th player to gain international recognition at youth level this season, James McKeown (Ireland U18), Ishmel Demontagnac (England U19) Rene Gilmartin (Ireland U21) and Mark Bradley (Wales U21).
