Bescot Stadium
Supporters To Play Big Part This Season

Walsall manager Richard Money has said in his pre-match build up to tonight’s massive promotion deciding game, he wants The Saddlers’ supporters to get behind the team and give them the backing they deserve when his side take on 4th placed Lincoln City at Bescot Stadium with the game been shown live on Sky Sports 2. He said that his table topping side hasn’t been getting the support they deserve at home; surely the League Cup tie against Bolton Wanderers has to be an exception to that statement. He said that the supporters have a big role to play in The Saddlers season and that he feels the supporters can change a game at any point. |

Money told Saddlers World: - ‘With been asking for it all season, I’ve watched over the last three or four games, I’ve watched a lot of our video’s from the first part of the season, especially at home here and to obviously just look at maybe what we was doing then but were not doing right now. ‘I watched the Peterborough game and we were 3-0 up after 28 minutes and you could hear a pin drop in the stadium and apart from a round of applause when we scored a goal there’s nothing in between. ‘227 people from our club went to Hartlepool last week, I really hope they have came back and told everybody in their own way just what the atmosphere was like at Hartlepool last weekend and that’s the way you got to supporter your home team, when your in this position. ‘Don’t forget they were 1-0 down for more than an hour, and 1-0 down after three minutes, it didn’t effect them in anyway, they came into their stadium in a real positive frame of mind, a real sense of helping there team to get the right result and they neither stop chanting, the atmosphere was electric for ninety minutes and they blew the second goal in. ‘We’ve got to get that here, we’ve got to have it here, I keep appealing to everybody every week and I don’t think people understand just how important they are and I’m not just talking about a group of supporters behind the goal, I’m talking about the whole stadium on three sides, every single one of them and it’s an enormous help to the team.’ So the message to the supporters is basically get behind your team and help them in their bid to gain promotion back into league one. Suppose he wants more of the same atmosphere as The Saddlers faithful gave against Bolton Wanderers I guess? | |
