Inzaman joins Yorkshire

Yorkshire are to replace one top class Pakistani test batsman with one who is probably even better, with the announcement that Inzaman-Ul-Haq replaces Twenty 20 World Cup bound Younus Khan. The former Pakistan captain will be available for Yorkshire’s game v Warwickshire at Scarborough next week.

The 37 year old who is described by Imran Khan as the best player of fast bowling in the World has played in 119 tests scoring 8813 runs at an average of 50.07.  In first class cricket he has scored 16,679 runs at 50.69.  His 378 One Day Internationals have seen a return of 11,739 runs at 39.42 and a strike rate of 74. 

In Inzaman Yorkshire have brought in a high class player, who together with the return of Michael Vaughan can help Yorkshire finish the season strongly.

I would have thought you may have looked at Virender Sehwag. A better all round package at this point in their respective careers, though Inzi is pretty "Round" himself...

Maybe Sehwag's being picked for the Indian Twenty20 squad in September could have been an issue. No such issue with Inzi

Anyway good luck and hope you don't have to increase the gate receipts to pay for the extra grub served to the players at lunch and tea...winking smiley

When does the county season end? Will any Yorkshire players be in the England Twenty20 squad?

normally 22nd september.

no yorkshire players in the england 20/20 squad
