BAGS BEST BET: Droopys Illiad (T4 3.07 Hove)

TODAY'S TREBLE: Scobys Merc (T4 7.37 Belle Vue)

It's the usual format for BAGS cards today with Hall Green (11.03 to 1.51) and Newcastle (11.11 to 2.03) providing the lunchtime action with 12 races each. Hove (2.08 to 6.11) and Oxford (2.18 to 6.18) provide 14 races apiece for the afternoon session. No sooner do these finish before three evening meetings kick in, namely Swindon (6.28 to 9.22), Belle Vue (6.33 to 9.12) and Sunderland (6.39 to 9.17).

Looking first at the Hove afternoon BAGS meeting, the best race on the card from a quality point of view is the 3.07 which is an A2 run over the 515-metre distance. The one we fancy to land the spoils is Droopys Illiad (T4) who is well up the task in hand at his best and is capable of blowing his rivals away from the start here.

There are no open races tonight at our featured tracks so we will take a look at the all-graded Belle Vue Bags card for the selections, which of course can be seen in the betting shops.

Bali Hi Cassy (T4 7.06) is a bitch who is running her socks off at the present time and, despite a mid-park slotting as per usual, she will prove mighty hard to beat with one of her better getaways in a top-grade A1 contest over 470 metres.

Later on at 7.37 Scobys Merc (T4) ran well in defeat on his latest start, clocking a good time in the process, and on that sort of form he has a first-rate chance to get back in the winning groove in A3 company.
