Cash Comes In For Maccarinelli
By Betting Zone March 4 2008
Although World Cruiserweight Champion David Haye has been installed as the favourite to win this weekend's showdown between Britain's biggest punchers, William Hill say that all of the early big bets have been placed on his opponent, Enzo Maccarinelli.

That has caused William Hill to cut his odds from 6/4 to 11/8 to win the fight after they took several four-figure wagers, including one of £4,000 on the Welshman.

William Hill have lengthened Haye slightly from 1/2 to 8/15, with the draw at 25/1.

"Traditionally, the bigger bets for a fight tend to come in nearer the first bell but it is noticeable that the majority of the early cash has been on an upset win for Enzo," said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

"Maybe the fact that Haye is yet to arrive in the country has influenced punters' thinking."
