Georgina Rozario, our ladies team scrum-half, will be on the bench for the first of a four match series against USA and Canada this week. She said on hearing the news "There are three more test games to go, I am hoping to get a start in one of them. What ever game time I get on Tuesday will give me the opportunity to show that I should be starting.
Apart for a slight cold Rozario is fully fit and ready for the series of matches which include. She expects a strong physical side from USA who will throw everything they've got at us.
Speaking of the IRBs experimental law variations Rozario said "I think these will play to my advantage allowing me to get quicker ball around the breakdowns and off the back of the scrum. Although it has been a shame that we have not even had a club match to see how they will play out in the game."
Gary Street, Head Coach “Georgina is improving all the time and these four games are her chance to show what she can do at this level and on the international stage. This is an important tournament for all the players as we look ahead to the RBS 6 Nations and in the long term the 2010 IRB Rugby World Cup.”
The squad met up at Heythrop Park in preparation for the campaign on Saturday and the 30 strong squad will have a busy time fulfilling 4 fixtures in just 10 days. All fixtures are at Esher RFC starting with a warm up Test on Tuesday 19th against USA before the Nations Cup matches on Friday 22nd against USA and Sunday 24th against Canada. A final Test will then be played the following Friday against Canada.
