Georgina Rozario

Georgina will be on her way to Amsterdam this week in advance of making her first start for England against Sweden in the European Championships.
Georgina made her debut for England against the USA last December when she came off the bench with twenty minutes to play. She was called up to play against Scotland earlier this year in the Six Nations but was unable to take up her place due to a shoulder injury.
Missing on her call up this year Georgina would like to get some match time at the highest level and get a few more caps under her belt. " I would really like to start just one game just to see if I can take control the game from the beginning rather than coming on once the match has been won."
Playing for Albion over the past two seasons she made the scrum-half place her own, controlling the game, making those quick decisions and scoring tries. She is very happy with the support the club have given her and would love to continue playing in Plymouth.
With the next World Cup coming up in 2010 the RFUW are looking to increase the support they give to their top players next year to help them spend more time on rugby and become fulltime if desired. To stay in the area Georgina is looking for a local sponsorship to help support her over the next 12 months. She hopes that her sports science and coaching with media degree she gained last year may be of help to any sponsor.
Gary Street, England Head Coach, has high praise for Georgina “She has improved her game a lot from the A season this year. She is playing some high quality rugby and has certainly improved her decision making and her speed of thought. I am also really pleased with her distribution and certainly I hope she can make a real impression in the European Championships. “Her strengths are her quick thinking, and being quick off the mark is a real strength for her. Her game understanding needs to be improved on and this is something that will come in time as she gets more international rugby at this level under her belt. “Georgina is certainly going to have an important part to play in the European Championships and will be an important part of our campaign.”The European Cup is a tournament which takes place every four years and will see 14 teams from across Europe compete for the coveted crown. England last won this competition in 1997 and will be taking a very strong team to Amsterdam on Thursday in preparation for their first match against Sweden on Saturday.
If successful England will play the winners of the match between Ireland and Spain on the following Tuesday in the semi-final.
