Heidfeld success boosts Hockenheim sales
By BMW Sauber F1 Team July 8 2008
Following his remarkable performance at Silverstone, BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Nick Heidfeld is the main crowd-puller for the forthcoming German Grand Prix. Organisers expect the venue, which will be the scene of three days of testing this week, to be sold out.

On Sunday, Nick inspired German Formula One fans with two spectacular moves in particular: twice in the race at Silverstone, he passed two opponents simultaneously. As reward for the German's stunning and flawless race he finished second, thus reducing the gap to the championship leaders.

The organisers of the German Grand Prix confirm they couldn't have hoped for a better promotion for the pinnacle of motor racing. They are confident that more than 85,000 motor racing enthusiasts will travel to Baden-Württemberg for the race. Jorn Teske, Marketing Director of the Hockenheimring GmbH, said. "The fact that Nick finished second represented another boost. On Monday, ticket sales accelerated significantly."

From Tuesday, the Hockenheimring will witness a small foretaste of the BMW Sauber F1 Team's home race: in addition to the Munich and Hinwil based squad, all the other teams will head to Hockenheim for three days of testing. Nick will be testing on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Robert taking over the wheel of the BMW Sauber F1.08 on Thursday.
