Turkish GP: Slow 3rd Practice session for BMW
By BMW Sauber F1 Team May 10 2008
In the third practice session for the Turkish GP, the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld carried out another extensive preparation programme without encountering any problems. Prior to the third session of the Turkish Grand Prix weekend, light drizzle made for wet conditions at the "Istanbul Speed Park".

Consequently, the crowds had to wait for about 25 minutes before the cars went out for their first laps on Saturday morning.

Nick was the slightly busier of the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers. The German completed a total of three stints comprising 19 laps. On his 13th lap, the final timed lap of his second stint, Nick set his personal fastest lap time of 1:28.655 minutes to finish 19th on the time sheets.

Robert, however, improved stint by stint. On his 14th lap, the first timed lap of his third and final stint, the Pole lapped the Turkish GP circuit in 1:27.971 minutes to secure 16th position.

As the BMW Sauber F1 Team apparently wasn't ready to put its cards on the table, in session three, you will have to wait until the qualifying session, starting at 14.00hrs local time (12.00hrs BST), to find out more about the BMW Sauber F1.08's true competitiveness at Istanbul.
