BMW-Sauber learnt from Kubica's accident in Canada
By BMW Sauber F1 Team November 6 2007
The development of the BMW Sauber F1.07 was not solely responsible for the BMW Sauber F1 Team's ability to record excellent results on the race track this season. In addition, growth in personal experience contributed to the team's success. .
Despite the fact that the BMW Sauber F1 Team only completed its second season, the squad from Munich and Hinwil experienced substantial progress in its development and lived through countless emotional moments. At the Canadian Grand Prix 2007, these emotions were particularly impressive.

BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen remembers: "With the new team I landed in situations I had never previously found myself in. As an example, we can take Robert's accident in Montreal, which caused anxious moments all round. Then it was imperative that the situation be managed correctly." After it had become apparent that Robert Kubica had survived his terrible accident without injury, the team was able to genuinely celebrate Nick Heidfeld's second place. Theissen summarises the events as follows: "Out of necessity one experiences personal growth."
