As was the case in the morning session, Robert set his personal fastest lap (1:36.717 minutes) in the first timed lap of his first stint. He subsequently focussed on tyre evaluations and set-up work. At the end of the day, the Pole completed a total of 18 laps and finished seventh.
Like his team-mate, Nick took to the track on both the harder and softer tyre compounds while also working on the set-up. With a personal fastest lap time of 1:36.862 minutes, set with about 30 more minutes of the session remaining, the German was just fractions slower than Robert and finished tenth. In total, he completed 25 laps in four stints.
On Saturday, the BMW Sauber F1 Team will continue its preparations for the qualifying session and the race. The third free practice session is scheduled to start.
