TEAM CAREER SUMMARY
Initially successful in sports cars, the midfield F1 team run by Peter Sauber between 1993 and 2005 was bought by BMW for the 2006 world championship. At the beginning, however, Sauber was Mercedes-Benz's works sports car team, winning Le Mans and the GT championship with drivers like Michael Schumacher at the wheel. In 2001 in F1, Sauber took a gamble on another relative unknown -- Kimi Raikkonen. Renowned for its efficiency with a small budget in formula one, even possessing one of the very best wind tunnels, the team never won a race.
