Moyes not Going to Toon
By Rhys Lewis
March 21 2006
There has been a joint denial by both the Chairmen of Everton and Newcastle United about the rumours that Newcastle were looking to approach David Moyes as their new manager to replace Graeme Souness.
Newcastle have been linked with several managers recently and David Moyes is the latest manager to be named in the papers. However the chairmen of the 2 clubs have moved quickly to firmly deny these rumours.

Newcastle Chairman Freddy Sheppard said, 'Bill Kenwright is one of my closest friedns in football, and i have phoned him this morning to say that Newcastle United have not approached David Moyes and will not approach David Moyes.'

Bill Kenwright, who recently came out and revealed how sacking David Moyes never crossed his mind has also revealed how there is no truth in these rumours.

Kenwright said, 'I know David Moyes. I know Freddy Sheppard. The story is fabrication and total nonsense- it should be discounted immediately.'
