FAO Fickle Everton Fans
By John P October 13 2005
I need to take 5 minutes out of my busy working schedule just to write this to get it off my chest. Recently there have been certain websites that have been stating that Moyes should be sacked.

This is absolutly ludacris. This is the best manager we have had in the last 20 years (sorry Joe Royle but Moyes has taken us to Europe with a good all round season long performance, but we are grateful for the cup!!). He is the youngest manager in the league and has got a lot to learn.

But when fickle fans sit there and state how crap we are doing this season and Moyes should be sacked, its up to the rest of us dedicated fans to point out that they are wrong. If they where in charge of the club they would be classed alongside Shepherd of Newcastle. Hiring and firing gets you nowhere. We need a stable manager who knows what he is doing and someone who can put a lot of time into the club. We need a David Moyes.

Moyes had all summer to buy the quality needed to maintain last season's good run!
And the quality was where? At the end of the day you can bankrupt the club by buying players that are still in heavy contracts and get one or two, or build a squad and buy 5 or 6. We have been unfortunate with injuries but we will get through it. £20m may be a Micheal Owen, but to us that is Simon Davies, VDM, Beattie, Valente and kroldrup. £10m bid for Kuyt was knocked back, personally, I'd say get in a decent striker (like Robbie Keane) and pick up a youngster or two from lower divisions (Ruddy for example).

Possibly 9 games with only 3 points?
How many teams out there can have upto 9 players injured and do well? The big teams like Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal can, perhaps, just scrape through games, but we had such a thin squad last season and although we have made some signings, a number of players injured like this will cripple any team.

Our star striker is a new 'sicknote'
He's had problems. So did Big Dunc. At the end of the day we have him in our team and its up to him to prove himself, not just to Moyes, not just to the fans, but to himself. This is striker that is big and powerful and has a good right foot. He just needs to stay injury free and soon the fickle fans will get off his back.

Staging a walk out at half time?
How many went outside during that protest? 6? 4? I got confused counting them and the car park attendants! There should have been a bus outside to take you to Southport FC. They could do with support, we can afford to drop half a dozen fickle fans if it improves the atmosphere.

If anyone else out there has any other comments then please feel free to email them in and we will publish them on here with some frank answers. We are not the Official Site so you will get it straight from the hip.
