This isn't just a match for a set of Liverpool and Everton fans to kick each other. It has a match that has been set up between the two websites and there will be donations being made by both sets of players and spectators who are watching. The two chosen charities are the Everton Former Players Foundation (www.efpf.co.uk) and the Hillsbrough Justice Campaign. Not only is this match for a good cause because of the money being donated to help these worthwhile organisations, it also shows how Liverpool and Everton fans can work together. In a time when the Merseyside derby seems to be full of bitterness and hatred, it is nice to see that the two sets of fans working together in good spirits just like in the past when the derby was known as 'The Friendly Derby.' While the two teams off the pitch may have been friendly and helpful in organising the match, this affair will be anything but friendly once the match kicks off!
Everyone is welcome to come and support either team and, or, just make a donation with kick off at 10.30am on Saturday morning at Stanley Park.
