van der Meyde To Face Possible Action By The Club
By Rhys Lewis August 8 2006
Dutch Star Andy van Meyde is facing potential disciplinary action by the club. This comes after he broke a club curfew having been out late on Sunday night. Van der Meyde had his drinked and had to spend Monday in hospital.
The 26 year old Dutch International has made allegations to the police about having his drink spiked at the Baby Blue club on the Albert Dock in Liverpool. He reported the incident after having to be taken to Arrowe Park hospital in the early hours of the morning from his home on the wirral. The police have confirmed they are looking into the incident and are continuing to look at CCTV footage from several bars to find evidence to support the allegations.

A spokeswoman said, "Police were called at 2.40am by a woman saying her partner had had his drink spiked."

Everton have only made a short statement about the incident confirming that van der Meyde spent the night in hospital but have made no further comments on the issue as yet. They are remaining tight lipped about whether they are going to take action because of van der meyde breaking the curfew but it is likely David Moyes will be angry with the winger for being out so late the night before training.

He will not be helped by the stories a few months ago where he denied that he had a problem with alcohol, this later incident will only enhance this reputation and send Moyes into deeper despair having seen the flying Dutchman make just 7 starts since his 1.8million move from Inter Milan.
