Bolton Wanderers Res. 1 Preston North End Res. 4
By Mark Heys March 21 2006
Bolton Wanderers reserves where sent crashing out of the Lancashire Senior Cup last night as Preston North End ran riot at the County Ground.
Former Bournemouth midfielder Brian Stock gave the Lillywhites the lead on 19 minutes with a free kick from distance which eluded everybody including the Wanderers goalkeeper Chris Howarth.

A minute or so later Bolton's evening got worse as David Hibbert took advantage of a mix up between Jarostaw Fojut and Danny Stott to double North End's lead with a composed finish.

The second half saw the hosts force their way back in the game as striker James Sinclair pulled a goal back on 52 minutes after Stott's free kick was headed on by Mark Ellis in a well worked move.

Fojut went mightily close for Bolton with a free kick but Preston stamped their authority on the contest once more by netting further goals courtesy of substitute Iain Howard and striker Mark Jackson.

Wanderers where well beaten on the night but they have a chance to bounce back tommorow evening as they take on Birmingham City in the FA Premier Reserve League North.

Preston's reward for winning this tie is a game against Oldham Athletic or Bury.
