The last two Wanderers reserve league matches have been full of incident for all the wrong reasons with last week's trip to Manchester City abandoned due to a small fire at the Sport City complex.
A week previous a strong Bolton reserve side where well beaten as they faced an in form Aston Villa side so it is hoped that the tide will turn for the better against the Baggies tonight.
Bolton can be encouraged by the fact that Albion failed to beat them at this level last season. A goalless draw was played out at The Hawthorns just over a year ago whilst goals from the now departed Ricky Shakes and Florent Laville gave the Trotters victory in Leyland nine months ago.
Two years ago this month the Baggies won this reserve fixture by three goals to one with the on-loan winger Glen Little netting a mere consolation for the Wanderers team.
In tonights game Bolton include new signing Martin Djetou in their squad for the first time after the former French international completed his move back to English football last week.
West Brom reserve boss Gary Shelton has a number of experienced faces at his disposal as Robert Earnshaw, Nathan Ellington, Richard Chaplow, Junichi Inamoto and Darren Moore are all in the travelling squad.
Striker Ellington and midfielder Chaplow both know the North West football scene very well having represented Wigan Athletic and Burnley respectively.
