American striker with a quick turn of pace who first came to England on trial in December 2004 when Bolton's Academy recruitment officer Geoff McDougle spotted him following a trip to the States.

Smith was later offered an Academy scholarship to join up with Bolton and went on to make an notable impression during the club's 2005 pre-season tour of the Far-East.

Definately one to look out for in the future, the Connecticut-born speedster hit six reserve team goals during the 2005-2006 season and was named as the most improved young player in the end of season awards.

After making a handful of league and cup appearances for the Wanderers first team in the 2006-2007 season he was allowed to join Carlisle United on loan for the rest of the campaign and proved to be a success for Neil McDonald's side.
