Davies completed his quartet of goals for the afternoon in under half an hour and further goals from Kevin Nolan, Henrik Pedersen, Sean Mountford and Gary Speed meant that the Trotters went in at the interval leading by a remarkable eight goal margin.
It took the Premiership side just two minutes to get on the scoresheet at the National Sports Centre. Speed and Ivan Campo combined well in midfield to set up Davies who fired the ball confidently past the Rushen goalkeeper Arron Storrie.
Storrie was picking the ball out of the net just five minutes later, Davies once again on target following excellent work down the left hand side from Academy youngster Mountford.
Kevin Nolan added a third with a just over a third of the first half gone with an excellent shot from over 20 yards which sailed into the net despite the brave attempts of Storrie to keep it out.
Sixty seconds later Henrik Pedersen scored his first goal since the New Year, with Davies completing his hat-trick straightafter on 22 minutes after taking the ball around Storrie.
The former Blackburn and Southampton striker then completed his goals rout for the afternoon on 28 minutes with his fourth and Bolton's sixth of the match. Leigh youngster Mountford then added a seventh with his first goal in the senior team.
Captain Gary Speed made it eight from close range as the first half was beginning to come to a close. Rushen, although enjoying the occasion against top class opponents, had hoped that referee Mark Halsey would blow his whistle for the break.
At half time Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce made a number of changes with eight players making way. Earlier on in the game Allardyce had replaced goalkeeper Chris Howarth with Sam Ashton who was later replaced himself on the hour by Polish stopper Przemyslaw Kazimierzczak. The Bolton boss stuck by his rule of giving each goalkeeper 30 mins in the game, to each of their credit none managed to concede a goal.
Portuguese teenager Ricardo Vaz-Te, fresh from representing his country in the Toulon tournament, wasted a couple of good chances for Bolton but was to make it third time lucky with a quarter of an hour remaining.
Mountford had added his second of the game with a well taken free kick, before Vaz-Te confidently struck the winner in the final quarter of the contest to make the scoreline Rushen 0-10 Bolton.
