Bolton added to their growing number of continental players in August 2006 when they finally aquired a work permit for Iran World Cup star Andranik Teimourian.

The young defensive midfielder had been waiting to seal a dream move to the Premiership from Aboo Moslem for two months but the Home Office held up the transfer as he had not represented his country in enough international matches.

Prior to his move to England he had played all of his football in the Middle East but his performances in the World Cup helped to raise his own personal profile and that of his country who put in a spirited performance throughout the tournament.

Andranik made his first full start for Bolton in the Carling Cup against Walsall and has also made Premiership appearances when coming off the substitutes bench.

His form over the Easter Period presented him with a succession of starts for the club and the most notable appearance was his two goal showing at Wigan Athletic on Easter Saturday to earn the Wanderers their first ever win at the JJB Stadium.

BOLTON RECORD: 17 appearances, 2 goals
