Jimmy Phillips side lost their FA Premier Reserve league opener by three goals to one against Sheffield United so they will be hoping to improve against a Rovers side which includes names such as Stephane Henchoz and Dominic Matteo.

USA youth international Johann Smith was sent off against the Blades but he does feature for the Wanderers tonight as they make their way over to the Lancashire coastline.

Smith was the hero in this fixture last season as he netted the only goal in May to end an otherwise disappointing season for the second string on a high. One hopes that Bolton can produce a similar result tonight and get some points on the board.
