We take a look at the Angolans to have played for the Saddlers...

Carlos Garracho

Foreign Legion : Angola

.

Name - Carlos Garracho
Position - Winger
Appearances - 5
Goals - 0
Period - July 2001 - July 2002

Carlos Garracho joined the Saddlers from Leca in July 2001. Prior to joining the Saddlers he had played in Portugal's lower divisions. His clubs had included Arrifanense, Leca and Jorge Leitao's former club Feirense.

Carlos was an Angolan international, and featured once for their national side while with the Saddlers. His time with Walsall was disappointing. He only managed 2 starts in 12 months, along with 3 substitute appearances.  His first start came in a 2-1 defeat against Crewe, where he failed to impress.

Paul Taylor did say that Carlos was one for the future, but at 27 years of age, how much time did he want? Leitao had made an immediate impact when coming from Portugal, so had Herivelto.

Ray Graydon soon realised that he wasn't up to first division football. He picked up a bad injury in the second half of the season, and although the Saddlers wanted to release him at the end of the season they continued to finance his rehabilitation.

Despite a lot of searching and many, many e-mails we are unable to trace his whereabouts since leaving the club. If you know who he is playing for now please e-mail TheSaddlersFC@aol.com
