Why we must keep the Blue & Whites in business...
By Oliver Varney, Coventry Telegraph June 20 2008
BEST of luck with the campaign to save Cov RFC. I have been a life-long supporter. My dad, Robert Varney and a chap called Colin Gunner took me to watch the Blue and Whites in the late 70s. My grandfather, Peter Sharp was club secretary from around 1978 until he passed away in 1983. These days, I regularly go to the Butts Park Arena with my brother. We drink, we behave

and we have a good time, win or lose.

I can't envisage what it would be like if Coventry RFC ceased to exist. My brother and I took my dad, who has multiple sclerosis, to the BPA for the first time early this year, I felt we were returning the favour to him. I couldn't tell you how proud that made me.

Cov RFC will exist and it will build again. I've stuck with them long enough, through many turbulent years, and I refuse to watch the club sleepwalk into the abyss.
