Preston were made to sweat today as they fell behind to a 26th minute Paul Furlong headed goal, set up by once Preston target Jamie Cureton, which found the top corner.
An immediate response from Preston saw a Youl Mawene flick on the front post from Chris Sedgewicks corner scrambled away from a poised Dickson Etuhu who was looking to power it home.
Chances came and changes were made as Mckenna and Nugent were fetched on for Etuhu and Agyemang. Preston piled on the pressure and eventullay it paid off as substitute David Nugent fires home a Paul McKenna shot which is spilt by QPR keeper Royce.
Preston moved up a gear and a totally different side turned up from the one that played the first hour as Dave Nugent shows his pace as he easily out runs QPR defender Danny Shittu. More pressure is piled on and eventually a short corner from Lewis is chipped into the box from Sedgewick and Chris Lucketti buries it from 6 yards to give Preston the lead.
Preston were made to sweat as two succesive bookings late on saw Eddie Lewis sent off and moments later a mass brawl on the touchline kicks off which sees Claude Davis booked and Gareth Ainsworth is also booked late on for a foul on former team mate Paul McKenna.
