The former Newcastle midfielder done some damage to his knee after getting his studs caught in the grass. Terry Butcher told the official website " He could be doubtful for the start of the season. It's really disappointing as he was just settling in to his position at the club. "

Kerr who was injured for the best part of last season will be a big loss to Terry as he was his ' big ' signing for the new campaign, Terry added  " It's a major blow for us as it looks as though this could be a major injury and this along with the other niggly injuries that we have will test our small squad heading into the season. "
